WNC | Hurricane Helene Relief
The direction of woven relief gatherings took a turn on October 1, 2024, when Whitney found herself heading from Nashville back to her hometown of Hendersonville, NC where Hurricane Helene brought severe devastation. Carrying a car full of water, generators, and gasoline, she headed home to check on her family. Woven is now the community organizer for long-term recovery. Woven Relief Gatherings collaborates with local creatives to organize immediate relief efforts in Nashville. Offering creative resolutions to provide emotional and physical support for our community.
Examples of woven relief gatherings include physical aid during the Nashville tornado relief efforts. The long-term recovery of the covenant community by facilitating art therapy gatherings for parents and children. A focus on creative direction and production to find innovative ways to raise mental health awareness in our community by partnering with a local dance company, Numinous Flux.
